Hi all,
New to BB so thought i'd introduce myself, i'm Dave, from wales.
Been riding for 8 years, much like a lot of you guys it's my biggest passion, used to ride a fair bit on the road, but sack that off over the last few years and now just try doing a trackday once a month when possible.
Had a great year with my first visit to Cadwell, although the drive up almost killed me, Donington Park, Pembrey etc, second trip to Cartagena earlier in May (tend to do one or two euros a year), favorite so far is Cadwell, crazy place, plan was to try getting some air over the mountain and can't wait to go back there.
Started on 600s with some R6s,moved to a S1KRR and now find myself on my R1, without doubt the best so far, absolutely love the thing.
Not much left to really do on it without spending far more than i can afford/or have talent to use, list so far if anyone is interested:
Full Woolich Reflash including race tools (Auto blipper, QS LC, Warm up, Pit limiter)
Brembo RCS 19
Brembo clutch lever
Brembo Zo4 pads
Valter Moto Rearsets 3.5
SC Project SC1R exhaust
Powder coated wheels
GYTR Rep fairings (changing to track fairings, same design)
usual protection from GB Racing etc
Anyways that about covers it, long winded i know, but just wanted to do a proper intro, hopefully meet a few of you on track!
Cheers
Dave
Oh few pics i guess are in order.

I don't think you can powder coast R1 wheels with them being magnesium.New to BB so thought i'd introduce myself, i'm Dave, from wales.

Sorry for the late reply guys, was unable to post.
Thanks for the warm welcome!
In regards to the wheels being powder coated, you can PC magnesium wheels, as long as they stripped back to metal and treated, a friend's father does it and looked after me, had no issues with them thankfully.
The Clutch is cable on the R1, just the lever fitted, as my OCD was playing havoc with me that the two levers didn't match :P
As to the both wheels off the ground over the mountain, the R1 makes it all to easy to do and is in no way any indication of my skill level! lol

So in real terms you've been riding about 4 years? Welcome.
Absolutely lol, riding on the road does nothing for me anymore really, just way to much risk involved, and while trackdays are in no way risk free, i much prefer my odds of getting up and walking on them than over Brecon!WaspsNest said:
Lovely looking bike, looks like a proper weapon. Great airborne photo too.
I only passed my mod2 a couple of months ago and have a Street Triple 675, which feels like a bloody missile, I can’t comprehend at this stage what a full-blooded sports bike would feel like on the track!
I thought that about my Honda hornet 600.. I only passed my mod2 a couple of months ago and have a Street Triple 675, which feels like a bloody missile, I can’t comprehend at this stage what a full-blooded sports bike would feel like on the track!
2 years later and I bought a speed triple R with just 140bhp a month ago and worried it maybe a little underpowered after my Fireblade

Street triple is one of my favorite bikes, had a friend lend me his for a few months back when i used to ride on the road, absolutely loved it, fantantic bike, the new RS much the same too.
As to the speed, it's something you get used to really, but never ceases to amaze just how quick it is, it's the noise that does it for me though, my S1000RR before it was a great bike, but very clinical, with the R1 every time i start it i fall in love with it.
