Some of you may or may not know of my little Westy project that I've been working on since 2002, if you don't I'll fill you in quickly....

I bought a bit of a duffer so I could use it as a project car for my college course (Motor Vehicle and Motorsport Studies) unfortunately I fell ill and never actually got to go to college, which left me with said duffer in a bit of a state in the garage.

There's a diary of most of what I've done to it here|http://www.pistonheads.com/members/showCar.asp?carId=3767 but I've not updated it for a while. It's not all been smooth running but I've learnt a lot whilst I've been doing it. I was intending on sprinting it but times have changed and it's being sold soon, I'd rather sprint when I can afford to do it properly, rather than on a shoe-string budget.

After all this time, it's finally finished, I had to get a custom bracket made up to fit my oil catch tank and the fabricator mucked me about and it took two months for me to get the bracket from him, anyway, it's done.

As of one minute past midnight today I am finally insured on it, and for the first time since Sept 2002 I've driven it properly, well, just a quick run out to bed the brakes in a little ready for it's MOT. :D I've never really known anything to be quite as fun as driving one of these, compared to other cars you're tiny and the weight of it makes it lovely to drive. Coupled with the wind and bugs in your face is really is pure driving :D

A couple of things though...

With all the overheating problems I did have with it I'm always wary of it overheating now, it's running a little warm but I don't know if this is anything to be worried about or if it's normal my gauge has 5 increments - C | | |* H - the * is where my needle is hovering with the fan on. Is this normal?

Finally, my oil pressure gauge has given up the ghost I think, I have no oil pressure :scratchchin: What should I be checking to see if there's pressure getting to the back of the gauge, I've had a look at the pipe but I can't really see anything.

Mixed emotions but I'm happy :D :bounce:

Anything in between = ok works for me

Car will be advertised all over the place when I've had enough of driving it (2 months time I would expect as I have a deal with the insurance company) but definately in the PH classifieds.
