New Fireblade!
Discussion
From what i see it is a case of ''no more Mr. Nice Guy CBR1000RR''.
A straightforward uppercut to the 1000cc class rivals with an amazing engine and power output. Despite giving away 104cc to the Ducati V4 it has similar stomp from start to finish and that's going some. What a motor!
I love the V4 Duck, who doesn't, but the Honda manages 214 bhp without the complexity of the Ducati's engine and shows that a simple inline 4 will always be the best route to high power and small size and least complication and expense.
I'd love one but that would mean several of my bikes dying in the cause.

Looks great and should hopefully be the new Blade we expected last time.
I'll go for 189bhp at the wheel on a normal dyno, which is what the last gen lacked imho, shame that this new model doesn't come with a blipper as standard though, dash looks great!

Other than desmo (which seems reliable for many years now) what does the V4 have that the blade doesn't? I'd imagine it's much more likely to break down being short on capacity compared to the Duc.WarnieV6GT said:
It looks great until you sit on it and realise it's going to be a track bike 1st and a road bike 2nd. Then there's the price ..
In fairness, what is expected from a 220bhp sports bike? Would there be much point in making it a more comfortable road bike especially when as you say its going to be £20k.I think we are entering the era where most superbikes are just that, out and out superbikes for track use / occasional road blast for those that can afford it, there are plenty of options out there for bikes that are more road focussed and no doubt Honda will come out with a naked version of this new bike soon to provide people with that.
I would love one but I am nowhere near the position that I could justify / afford one as you can imagine the repair cost if you do take it to the track and make a trip into the gravel but this bike is obviously aimed at people racing, with deeper pockets, those that just like to own something awesome for a trip out on a sunday or people not scared of planting a £20k bike on PCP into the gravel.

Be riding one 1st week of April

Would appreciate your views after a a couple of months. It would be my next Blade but having sat on it at the show those pegs are seriously high, and I have the world's shortest legs, no I mean really short. So found it uncomfortable. Regularly do one two and three week tours on my current Blade. That would be its primary use. So my initial thoughts are it's a track bike first and foremost. Which is what the people on the Honda stand intimated it was built for TT, WSB And BSB. Not particularly for people like me. 2019 SP?

I'll be riding it at Donington park so won't really be able to tell you it's touring properties Sorry. Sidecar Man said:

I’m sure it’s going to be an amazing bike but it’s so expensive,£20k for the base model?!, I very much doubt it’s going to be £4K better than a new S1000RR or R1, you could have the base mode Panigale V4 for less.
As good of a bike as it will be, this isn’t a ‘game changer’ imo, all of the latest super bikes are so good.
If Honda had actually done it and made this an RVF instead of a CBR I’d probably have made the jump though, a modern RC30 would be awesome.

Think the challenge remains the pricing. Thanks for sharing your view.ChocolateFrog said:
The BMW undercuts it significantly so if out and out performance is the main criteria then the Blade has to be a serious heart over head decision.
Can’t be too many people who have bought a blade with their heart, apart from maybe the first model.I’ve always seen it as the sensible boring choice.
