Petrol or diesel and 16v or 8v?
It's petrol.Sorry I am not sure if it's 16v or 8v so I'll post a few details below:
Reg - SD64 XVY (Ibiza Toca)
1390 CC
139 G/km
Engine number - CGG A84088
Does that help or do you need more information from the V5?
Thanks for your patience.
It’s a 16v model and you should be able to get the job done for quite a bit less on that model .
I think it’s around £150 for the parts at trade price) (cambelt kit including water pump & coolant) phone Your local TPS for an accurate price.
Find a good small garage to do it, where are you located?

What makes you think it's due..
Seat increased the cambelt intervals some time ago, most are now due at 130k kilometers, around 80k miles.
Hello,Seat increased the cambelt intervals some time ago, most are now due at 130k kilometers, around 80k miles.
The Seat dealer contacted me to say it was due. I've done 50'000 miles.
The local garage said it was fine but said I should look at getting it done at some point. The local Halfords Autocentre said the same.
SEAT main dealer is fixed price £399 for the petrol cambelt change and it comes with a 5 year warranty. We've just had our 64 plate 150bhp 1.4 TSi Leon done, initially the service rep that booked us in queried whether the 1.4 TSI was covered under this fixed price as it's apparently ~5 hours work to change it, but its not mentioned in the exclusions so they did it no problem.

Oh and the water pump on the EA211 series of 1.4 engines is driven by a seperate belt on the other end of the engine so changing it with the cambelt doesn't save any money and its less likely to cause big damage if it did fail.
Hi,I contacted the local Seat dealer and they have quoted me £480 for the cambelt and water pump work.
They confirmed it should be changed every five years and mine was just overdue but didn't comment when I asked if it should be based on mileage. I've only done 50'000 miles.
Cheapest good small garage quote I've found at moment is £300. Imagine I can probably find it even cheaper if I call around.

VAG in the UK say it's 5yrs (4yrs pre 2009) and they're pretty insistant that it must be done. Seat increased the cambelt intervals some time ago, most are now due at 130k kilometers, around 80k miles.
Annoying because in some other contries they go on mileage, and sometimes it's only "inspect at" You'll see everything from 120K miles upwards quoted.
Wife's diesel Tiguan (EA288) was touted as being a 'lifetime' belt, but VW UK are still saying 5yrs. As the implications of it breaking are pretty catastrophic you'd have to be brave to ignore it.

£300 sounds almost too cheap for what must be 7 hours work in total plus a cambelt kit, a new water pump and new coolant etc which must be £150+ in parts.
Gove over! If it was 7hrs it'd be a £1000+ job at a dealer. It's 2-3hrs on a VW.And EA211 engine is another where the belt was supposed to be lifetime but VW is still insisting on 5yr replacement,

2-3 hours to change the cambelt on one end of the engine AND change the water pump on the other end? Give over. And EA211 engine is another where the belt was supposed to be lifetime but VW is still insisting on 5yr replacement,

I don't think it's routine to change the water pump on these, for the reason you stated - it's at the other end. It's also a complex (and therefore expensive) pump. The thinking on older engines was that you might as well do it while you were in there, and it was thought that releasing the tension on the pump can cause them to start leaking. It added £50 to the cost.
