It was a spontaneous buy. Got both for 19.99.

Smart plug, I mean what's the point of these? Turn on a lamp maybe?

The Google Nest mini could be used to control my Q70r Samsung?

I gave up on alexa years back. Don't even get me started on Siri and Bexby for Samsung.

Turned off after a few hours

Just sell it as you have no interest in using it.
You dont sound like you actually want any advice.

My Nest Mini is screwed to the underside of one of my kitchen cupboards and gets used for timers, music and news whilst I'm cooking or washing up.

Perhaps use the smart plug to turn a lamp on and off for security whilst you are out. You could probably set up a schedule or do it manually via an app.

I have two smart plugs. One is plugged into my bedside lamp and set on a timer. I have fitted an old fashioned eco lightbulb that takes about 15mins to warm up. It's set to come on before my alarm and gently wakes me up, then turns itself off just before I go to work.

The other is plugged into my kettle. It turns off at 10pm, so before go to bed I fill it up with water and depress the switch. Then when I go down in the morning its freshly boiled to make a brew.

My 2x Nest Mini and 1x Nest hub are used for Alarms, Timers, Music, Youtube and acting as chime for Nest Doorbell.

I use a few smart plugs to turn on and off amplifiers that supply my ceiling speakers, they will be on between 6am and 10pm, so long as I'm at home - My central heating (Tado) detects my phone is out and sends a trigger to IFTTT which passes it to the smartplugs and turns them off.

I have a plug for my Slow Cooker so I can control that on a timer so it's ready at the right time, or if I don't know when I'll be home I can turn it on remotely when my plans are better formed. I also use one to do the Christmas tree lights. They're handy, but not game changers.

I have ChromeCast Audios connected to the amplifiers and I've ended up with Nest Minis in most rooms as I've picked them up on Gumtree for pennies and ended up with two free ones when I took out a Play Music subscription. The minis are setup to default audio to the right ChromeCasts, so if I ask for music it plays over the ceiling speakers, which is neat.

I use them to add stuff to shopping lists, get recipes, reminders, timers, they'll give you directions and send them to your phone for navigation, I use that a bit by asking how long it'll take to get to somewhere, which is neat. They will make calls too, though I've not really used that much. The broadcast feature is quite useful, though I'd like to be able to setup an intercom with them when I'm out in the workshop.

I sort of think you need to go all in with them to get a lot out of them, if you had to walk to a particular room to ask a question, you won't so you won't break the habit of reaching for your phone and searching. Now I can ask anywhere I use them a lot more.

Plug the Google Nest Mini into the smart socket.

Ask Google to turn the smart socket off.

My guess is, she can't self-terminate.

I've just bought an Alexa echo dot (I think). It's in the kitchen/diner and is used primarily for music. Seems like a great use to me and I can't see why people buy small kitchen radios anymore!
Also use it for cooking timers and occasionally weather forecast, but mostly just music.
