981 GT4 Clubsport cage rattling
Discussion
I've owned the GT4 with cage for 12 months.
I think the noise you are hearing is most likely noise from the rear shcks working and the noise being transmitted into the car via the coupling of the cage to the rear suspension turrets.
I hear the occasional metallic 'jing' when driving in London but could find nothing to tighten. The 'metal' discs in the roll hoop are screw in and might have come loose (unlikely as some are loctited). The main parts of the cage are bolted together with M14 x 70 bolts torqued to 180Nm. I would be very surprised of these had come loose.
Finally the main hoop is bolted to the chassis - again these are loctited by the factory and were bloody tight.
I have had my main hoop in and out of the car and found little that could be loose.
Could it be the harnesses jangling?
Hope this helps.
