Looking to replace my A6 daily driver for something smaller and more fun. I don’t want to own this car so looking at 2 yr lease/PCP. It’s going to be a car for commuting and even I have to drive somewhere in rubbish weather, but needs to be fun.

The spec and residuals on the S3 seem much better than the Golf. Is the Golf worth 10-15% more?

I cant help much but although i see them as a bit sharper looking i dont get the Tcr.
Id much rather have the improved traction of the R or the S3.

If fuel economy is important to you the golf will likely be better (no 4wd). The wife had a S3 and the mpg was piss poor. Great fun though!

I think the S3 is a little dull in comparison, the TCR has the rarity factor as well.

As others have mentioned the 4wd really does impact on the fuel economy.

If you are looking to lease and cost is a factor what about the Leon Cupra? (Not as cool i know) It's essentially a TCR for less and comes with DCC, 19's and Virtual cockpit all as standard.

The all wheel drive on my Golf doesn’t seem to give me an MPG issue. 36 mpg long term. 44 mpg on a long run.
