Hi all, with the demise of Maplins, I've lost my go to place for electronics.
I have these lights in the extractor hood, and SWMBO is nattering for brighter ones!
Anyone know where to look? Google is a minefield, and I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. LED recessed lighting comes back with all sorts. I'm guessing it's 240v? They don't seem to have a transformer attached.
Thanks for any advice!

Scroll down to the second photo, does it look like one of those G4’s from the front of the light?
The transformer is the yellow brick on the back, no?

The markings suggest it's just a capacitor. Also, as I can't see anywhere for power to be applied to that side of the fitting, I'm assuming the interesting bits haven't yet been revealed to us by this photo...
Fair do’s, I was only guessing anyway. OP must try harder with his camera!

There may be a transformer elsewhere in the hood - if you have a multimeter you may want to check the voltage first.Monty Python said:

Maybe not. That's a mains voltage capacitor - of the type typically used for powering LEDs directly off the mains.Given that may be the case, it may be possible just to find some mains voltage LED lamps of the correct size to fit, and just solder the wires on.
