I am not very tech savvy, so this may be a stupid question.

I have an iPhone 6S (see what I mean) and I use Whatsapp to video call friends overseas.
I have a smart TV (cheap one)

Is it possible to somehow display the Whatsapp video/iPhone screen onto a smart TV screen when making a Whatsapp video call?

If so, how (but in very easy terms)

Thank you

I have a Samsung TV and Phone and can use technology like DNLA to connect phone to TV and when view whatever is on there

Apple have their own version of DNLA so you may not be able to do it without an Apple TV

But looks around for DNLA and that should get you started...

I don't think this will work but you can run WhatsApp on a laptop (or desktop) and I assume video calling works that way too. I haven't tried it though.

This would at least give you access to a bigger screen.

On android, you could mirror the screen to a chromecast.
There must be an Apple equivalent where you can mirror the screen. Doubt it is built into your tv though.

Thanks for the replies.
I was able to get the (Phillips) Smart TV and my iPhone 6S to mirror, but only to show the photos and video files stored on my phone. Interestingly it would not show videos sent from a friend in the UK. I am doing it through Roku (not sure if you get that in the UK). When I select the video to show, it starts to prepare to show it then crashes out. It will show videos I shot and one from my brother in Oz. I was wondering if it was the PAL/NTCS thing, but doubtful. Anyway, I learned something new with technology....
Seems that Roku is not set up for Apple connectivity. Oh well, back to the webcam/Skype etc.

Thanks again.

Does it have to be wireless? If you can accept a wired solution then all you need is a HDMI cable and one of these:
