997 gts to 991.2 gts

I’m thinking of changing my 997 gts cabriolet to a 99.2 gts Cabriolet what are people’s views on the .2 gts over the 997
The car is twice the price of my car but is it worth it in the long run ( future value has to be considered as I can’t afford to lose 💰💰💰)
I know it’s faster and comfier and more up to date sat nav etc but is it so much better
You’re thoughts would be appreciated

Think it depends on how you use it really...if it’s a weekend fun car I really don’t see the value in it.. If you use it as a daily driver and have the cash I can see why you’d do it....PDK box is much improved if you have a PDK.

I’ve got a manual 997 GTS and thought about this after having my OPC’s manual 991.2 GTS demo for a weekend but concluded it wasn’t worth the £50k plus premium at the time.

If cost (short or long term) is a factor then stick with the 997. however, the 991 is faster, rides better and feels newer. But it also feels bigger to drive.

I’ve owned both , indeed two of the newer 991.2 GTS. Pound for pound the 997 GTS is a winner even as a daily driver. Sure it’s steering is heavier, reversing into an uphill parking spot takes guts to add sufficient revs to edge in without sounding like your about to redline it, pcm is old etc etc but a very compelling ownership experience. I think it’s A great car given especially as it’s a pre VW porsche.

Stick....or wait a another year and it’ll cost you £10k less to do the trade.

When I thought about doing this it was actually £60k now I think about it....now I think it would cost me £30k as the car in question is on the market at the moment. We all know cars depreciate etc but I am glad I didn’t spunk £30k on what is a weekend car that whilst it does a couple of things better than a 997 you’d also argue there are things the 997 does better.

I do prefer the torque in the 991.2 vs the 997 but for a weekend car the 997 GTS is a compelling car.
