A year ago today

January 4th 2019 an armed police officer shot and killed an unarmed man. The IOPC has been investigating this killing and the events that led up to it for a year now.

A request to the IOPC for information regarding the status of the investigations into the killing met with a bland reference to the January 8th 2019 update on the IOPC website.

RIP Sean Fitzgerald.

I hope his killer and any others responsible for his death are brought to justice.

I'd certainly like justice to prevail, but I'm not sure you are motivated by justice.
You appear to have made your mind up what the outcome should be & will only see it as justice if that outcome is established. That isn't a search for justice, justice is fact determined. It is not determined by conforming to one's prejudice.

You behave in such a way that it is decided, for whatever reason, that you need a visit from armed police from whom you then decide to run. What could possibly go wrong?

Having said that, we have no idea of course why the police were visiting because the BBC did their usual half cocked 'complete failure to get to the nub of the issue' job of reporting the story.
