That looks lovely, I really like the C class in estate guise.

Lovely motor, I have a coupe of similar vintage. One modification I would really recommend is vinyl wrapping the centre of the lower bumper, accompanied by a sportier front grill. Oh and black mirrors...so three mods smile

Thanks both.

I like the 63 grill but unsure how it'd look on a silver car...

Had a good blast today, I'm a County Surveyor, with lots of sites to visit in my patch. Getting used to the 7g and accelerator pedal. Varied driving and managed 29mpg over 85 miles. Leon would be doing about 40mpg over a similar trip.

Got the tax back, and confirmation the Leon has gone.

This made me chuckle...

Niiiice. I like the sound of these. Will need to replace my golf estate 1.8t sport this year. What is the road tax per year on these. Guessing it will be the highest band? I've noticed the newer c350 is 2.0L highbrid. But they are a lot more expensive it seems.

Lovely stuff OP!

Not many of these around at all.

I bought a car from somebody who had one of these (pre facelift) which was a second motor of his and he raved about it.

Always wondered how they performed.

Very nice, as others have said its probably quite rare with that engine! My dads got an SL350 with I assume the same engine which I borrowed for a few days over Christmas and it was really nice - they sound great on WOT. I've a C207 (E Class Coupe) of similar age for a daily which I'm enjoying, although I've got the 350CDI engine I experience the same thing with the throttle pedal, in particular when pulling off it kind of hesitates for a second and then shoots off.

Yeah, I've got a weird sense of humour.

Thanks for the comments all.

A c63 grille is now on the list.

I've found some fit a sprint booster to even out the accelerator pedal, but will see on that one.

On the rarity front, I don't know.

howmanyleft lists a few different c350's, but some are diesel, wrong trim or newer. So, rough guess is about 300 with this engine, of which, a third may be estates? It'd be interesting to find out.

Spent Saturday cleaning the car and noticed the following bad items:

Rear bumper covered in scratches.
Tiny stone chip to roof
Wheel bolts rusted.
Wheel centres peeling(?)
Washer jets need specialist tool to adjust.
Door sill trim lifted.

Nothing too critical. I've also noted the good:

Bonnet struts open to ~60degs, but can be pushed further to ful vertical.
Battery post under bonnet.
Rear battery next to spare wheel has a ~20x20x20cm void, useful for storing general bits.

It's an expensive month in the Miller household, so will have to wait until March to start sorting these bits out.
