Pleading guilty. Go to court or not?
Discussion
Was caught by the SPECS camera on Tower Bridge doing 37 in a 20.....thought it was 30....anyway...no excuse. Have a magistrates summons, with option to plead guilty and submit a statement, plead guilty and go to court or plead not guilty.
Would I lose out by not going to court, and just submitting a remorseful statement? Also what's the likely points and fine?
Thanks in advance.

ACPO Guidlines on speed prosecution consider that 35 and above in a 20 area is very naughty and hence the Court to deal as opposed to Conditional Offer.
Generally in these circumstances the Mags may consider a short ban. I would have thought (and could be wrong) that turning up at Court full of contrition and verbal mitigation would carry more weight that a non appearance and a letter.
Almost certain it will be more than 60 notes and 3 points.
The decision is yours.......

Actually that whole area around tower bridge is avery high risk, first is the 40 zone with gatsos, then 40yrds later a 30 zone with gatsos then the 20 zone with specs and your never really sure when you have left the specs zone unless you look skywards of course!
I have drivers everyday trying to overtake as i do 20 in the specs zone- those cameras must make a lot of money!
