I bought myself a lovely V8V S coupe. I love the way it looks of course, the way it sounds and I am working my way round the SS2. I wanted a manual, but there were only 2 of them for sale in the whole of the US and were commanding silly premiums so I have a SS2 instead.

I find the ride hard but it is on RE50’s and the fronts are ancient so I will have Michelin S4’s on by the end of the week. I think that will make a big difference.

I do have a question on the dual clutch replacement, how much of a difference does it make to the gear change. I can live with the SS2 but it will need a new clutch in the next 5k miles of so. So stick with the original or go for the slightly more expensive option. I have looked at a lot of threads on this but I have heard few first hand observations.

The garage door opener doesn’t work, no LED light but power to the interior lights next to it, so not sure what is happening there.

Ther are some high frequency buzzing noises from the door and the dash. I think new tires will help but are there any obvious places to begin looking?

I love the vantage, I feel very privileged to be driving one, and I just want to increase that enjoyment by sorting out the niggles.

I only have experience of changing to a twin plate clutch on a manual Vantage, so herefore cannot answer your question.

There are a series of videos, which might be of help to you.
This is a link to one about clutches. Possibly there is another about the twin plate aspect.

Enjoy your new car.

When I had my clutch replaced I opted for the twin plate, it has made a vast improvement on my SS1 gear changes they are now both quicker and smoother, it's a highly recommended upgrade.
The more common rattles are:
Windscreen demister vents, screws work loose.
Steering wheel airbag requires a small bush to be installed on bolts holding airbag in.
Satnav cover can rattle there are three repairs for this 1) new design spring for lid 2) new locating clip at front of lid 3) new mounting brackets for lid
Door panels can squeak on mounting points at top of door, remedied by fitting foam strips to door trim mounting points.
