I find that women tend to create many times the "personnel hassle" of blokes! In my experience, it's the old 80/20 rule, whereby 20% of your staff give you 80% of the hassle.

Why can't they have an argument, agree to differ, then get over it and move on?

I realise I'm not being politically correct, but I think I am, in the main, being statistically correct.

Oh I quite agree Strebbe, there have been no arguments between men at our office, but the women are often having catfights.

I used to work in an office with 7 women, it was very bad at times, arguments, temper tantrums, sulking etc

I now work in an all male department and there have been no problems.

Fact – how you wish to interpret that fact is up to you

I also find women take a lot more sick days than men - just an observation based on working in offices for 17 years

I don't think I'd employ a woman if I could help it!

My hubby often comes home from work complaining about the claw fighting in the office. But i suppose thats what he has to put up with, when theres only two men in the office and the rest are women, i feel sorry for him some times.

It's the complete opposite where I work - they guys are the ones who throw huge strops which last for days and have the worst attendance records.

I hacve never forgotten a survey in The Guardia some years ago.

Apparently 60 odd percent of men prefer a male boss....but over 80% of women prefer working for a man...

Many excellent past and present female colleagues and staf have said the same. Indeed some have gone as far as to say working with other women can be a nightmare.

Make of that what you will.

A female friend of mine says she prefers the company of blokes because they don't bitch, have cat fights and fall out with each other for the simplest thing and don't talk for months on end.

Interesting.

My other half used to manage a team of men and the stress they caused was unbelievable - as you say above, arguments, temper tantrums, sulking, whingeing and whining like immature juveniles.

On the other hand, there are quite a few women in my office and we all get on really well. We're co-operative, productive and generally bright and cheerful. This doesn't go unnoticed by the boss who quite often praises us for our hard work. The wine and chocolate is a very welcome gesture of thanks, too!

So, so true. Its like on one of those lists 'Mens 43 rules for women' that does the rounds on email every so often; one of the rules that particularly stuck in my mind was: "If he says something that could be taken two ways, one of which would cause offence and the other wouldn't, he naturally meant the latter". How often do women seem to take offence almost deliberately when there's no need?

He was using a subtle form of irony that you failed to pick up on. He actually meant the opposite and that you and your friends are a bunch of whining crying hormonally challenged hariddens.

And never give a woman a good job. If you have to get rid of her or don't promote her because she is no good you will see her in court because it will be sexual discrimination. These days even if you are right you will lose. This possibility has knackered up the career of thousands of good women employees.
Political correctness causes more problems than it solves.

I should add that women mature earlier than men, most men are not suited to an office environment until they are 21 while a girl can be Ok from 16.

The problems I have encountered are usually with older women who always seem to be having cat fights.

I find the tone and content of this thread extremely sexist and offensive.

By the way Jaglover, these Catfights you mention, do their clothes ever fall off? Oh and is there ever any oil or mud involved?

Trust me Tonto, with these women that is not a sight that you would want to see.

Ah, that's interesting (again!).

The team of 'nightmare' men my other half managed were all *older* blokes...

So, perhaps it's partly hormone related and they were suffering from Irritable Male Syndrome!
