Need to get myself in shape again. Need trainers (I dont normally wear them) so where should I go for some? Wanting trainers for the gym/ spin etc. Nothing budget busting. (circa £40-50).

Any suggestions?

Plenty of selection and reasonable prices...the nearest sports direct is your friend.
If you will be running I would highly recommend going to a running specialist first (e.g: runners need) to get gait analysis to help.pick the correct type of trainers specific to the way your foot lands etc. Yes it's more costly but will help to avoid injuries later, the hassle of an injury far outweighs the extra initial cost.

+1 for going to a proper shop, although it'll cost a few quid more.

You'll probably also want different shoes for spin if you end up getting into it. Cheapish bike shoes aren't bad though - cheap running shoes suck.

I recommend Shimano mountain bike shoes for spin.

Much better if you are clipped in, and the soles are stiff so the don’t flex when standing like running or gym shoes will. Don’t get road shoes because you can’t walk on a nice wooden or tiled floor with the cleats exposed!

For running I would go to a shop and take their recommendation, if you plan to do a lot. Expect to spend about £100.

Gym only I would just pick some I like the look of. I use worn out Nike ultra boost for my bootcamp class

Yep - I use some Shimano shoes for spin. They've been great.

My wife has some DHB ones from Wiggle which have held up well. You'll need SPD compatible ones so hopefully they'll have recessed cleats anyway.

you want nice simple cheap shoes for the gym - any sports direct sale item will do. You can also spin in those fine - IF you get into spinning sure, get some cycle shoes to clip in.

As for running shoes, I go with whats comfy - I dont buy gait analysis (which is not what most shops do anyway - they just look at your feet) as a means of working out what shoe to run in. I buy light weight shoes for when I want to run fast, grippy ones for running off road, bright ones to look cool.
