I have a ‘friend’ (cough) who’s so crap at cornering its embarrassing, and rather than just bin it on a regular track day. Would rather get some additional tuition, so would appreciate your thoughts on the best race school / training day / or track day where novice means novice.

I'm a total novice and have just done my first track day with rapid training I was very happy with the way they looked after the novice group ( and everyone else, I think) brilliant fun as well and I've done some on road training with nthem which was v useful

I must agree with Beanorat. I did my first trackday with Rapid Training as well and they were very helpful with the novice group, giving out some good instruction and advice.

California Superbike School

Much more info & technique than Rocket Ron's.

Their slogan is: "Learn the art of cornering"

Does what it says on the tin - promise! I've done levels 1-3 & it's the best money I've spent.

Failing that - buy the books!!!

Like Beanorat, I did my first trackday yesterday at Cadwell. The Rapid guys keep a good look out for anybody not doing well, such as cornering. So even if you don't ask them for help, they will speak to you.
Highly recommended. Highly addictive too, can't wait to sign up for another.

Muchos thanks for the replies.

I like the look of the Rapid outfit from you comments and their website. Must be popular as they have precious little availability for this year on the track. I think I may give them a try for their road-based courses as well.

Cheers all.

have a look at
www.europeansuperbikeschool.com/homepage.html

they have a range of SPORT and PACE days with upgradable ESS training modules, which are aimed at training and not just tracktime.
