Yet another ‘special’ to improve margins no doubt. Looks like a chopped Vantage with a V12? Does this mean a V12 Vantage might be on the cards?

Thats what I was wondering (hoping). Not that I could afford it if they did. Considering the V8 with a manual is a dying breed, imagine what the V12 could be.

Then a V12 DB11 wouldn't be too far a stretch, although I doubt there is a big market for that.

Will be based on the DB11 / DBSS as they've got the V12. No need to re-engineer the Vantage

Yeah I've just seen in an article. The styling in the sketch seems more Vantage than DB11 though. Wasn't there speculation a while back that the V12 could practically drop into the Vantage as the mounting points were very similar to the DB11 or something?

There are additional vent cut outs on the underside of the bonnet on the internal skin. They may drop the V12 into the Vantage - but suspect it will be limited run and likely with a high price tag.

It would be nice if it did happen, even if realistically there is no particular need/reason for it.

Isn't the Monza just copying the CC100 which was copying the SLR Stirling Moss? Or is it only Ferrari that can have the glory?

Is this like the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon? Well I must say that I wouldn't mind owning/driving pretty much any car Aston see's fit to 'copy'.

You see a lot of CC100's !!.
Concept car from memory.
Speedster concept has been around forever but Monza started current trend.

It was originally a customer commission, to commemorate the centenary of the Bamford & Martin Ltd company formation.
Only two were built, based on the V12 Vantage.

Which year was the Monza?
There was a DB7 without a roof. Have forgotten the model name. Think it might have been only for the USA market.

Definitely seems like a blinkered view. Removing concept cars (like the CC100) we have the following recent production cars in order of volume:

Porsche 911 Speedster announced 2018 to go into production in 2019 - 1,948 to be produced
Ferrari Monza SP1 &SP2 announced 2018 for 2019 launch - 500 to be produced
McLaren Elva Speedster announced 2019 for deliveries in 2020- 399 to be produced
Aston Martin DB7 AR1 (2003) - 99 produced
Aston Martin V12 Speedster - announced 2020 deliveries 2021 - 88 to be built
Mercedes/McLaren SLR Stirling Moss (2009) - 75 produced
Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster announced 2017 for 2019 launch - 28 produced

Am I missing any from the past 10 years?

While I`m sure it`ll be very interesting to look at, I personally fail to see the attraction in a car like this, and especially at what will no doubt be an eye watering price, other than for the collectable market. Does this appeal to the convertible/Volante crowd? Am I missing something? Wind in your hair, insects in your teeth etc, 100% fair weather driving only, heaven forbid getting caught in a rain shower.

As I said concept has been around forever but if Ferrari had not launched Monza do you really think AM would have launched this car ?
To try and disprove the existence of blinkers I think the Roma is too much like an AM and believe it's launch does no favours for the Ferrari brand.
