Changing trustee on will

We have 2 trustees on our wills, one of which we no longer want to be trustee as we fell out in January 2019 and haven’t spoke since. Is it worth getting new wills re-written? I understand trustees to be a bit of a formality; do they really have much say on what happens? The other trustee we would keep.

Any advice?
