Back on a Bike!!!!
Discussion
So 10 years after giving up biking for the second time, bought another bike today!
From 17 to 32 had loads of bikes, the best of which was a Z1 running a full P and M endurance engine,! then sold up and went travelling.
Next venture was age 40, first mid life crisis, test road a bandit 1200, in January, in light snow!! Loved it and bought a new one, only new bike ever bought, kept that for 3 years, then sold it to buy another Z1, off a mate, that I had helped build from a wreck, back in the day. Tore that down and did all the usual, 1075 kit, welded crank, Lester alloys, box section swing arm, braced frame, etc. etc. Won best modified at the Northern Z1 owners club meet. Sold it in 2009 when I got offered what i thought was silly money (ie about a fifth what it would be worth now.) And that, I thought was that! Leathers all parcelled away in the attic, biking days over!
Until today, when I have bought a 2003 XJR 1300 with 12000 miles on the clock! So leathers dug out, and picking it up next Wednesday, cant b****y wait!!! Will use my old helmet, when i go get it, but guess as its 20 years old now, its probably sensible to replace it. Already making plans for minor improvements!!!
