Views of threads

As well as the number of replies to a topic is it possible to display alongside the number of views a thread has had.

This works pretty well on another forum I'm on a lot.

It wasn't previously, but it is now.

Personally I prefer not to show them. It feels more homely not to feel that you're being watched by 200 people

Does that mean you could switch it on but choose not too ? that's cool.

Another couple of things I thought were when you either reply to a thread or post a reply there is an empty grey area next to the 'Rules of Posting' link.

How about filling that with a box of the most commonly used smilies so instead of typing in the correct legend you could simply click on the smiley.

Also when you reply to a thread how about adjusting the format so you can scroll down the page to see the previous posts.

Another one could be a Word style drop down menu formatting code system, ie bold, italic, size, colour, font etc. Does that make sense ?

Yep, some of those are in the pipeline. I must get back onto that - been working on a few other things.

I'm sure you're a busy man Ted but another thing from my other forum is that when you preview a post it shows the entire post, useful to see if you're quoting someone with multiple rebuttals to ensure correct formatting.

Here it chonks it off halfway through if it's large or have I got it setup wrong ?

Yep, the current system doesn't display the full post if it's more than a couple of paras.

The new version does have a proper preview facility. Still being tested currently.
