Hi, I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help. I have an Apple Music account as it works well with my iPhone, MacBook etc, and I'm looking to put together some playlists for my 8 year old son but I'm not sure what device to use! I have an iPod Classic (one of the last ones Apple made), which although it charges and shows up on my Mac, I don't seem able to update it or add songs. It seems a shame to buy another MP3 player to add tracks to, but it looks like there's not much other way. Having done a little research it sounds as though non-Apple MP3 players will accept Apple tracks, any suggestions for a cheap suitable player?

It's quite frustrating really as the ipod is percent fine! It was so much easier back in the day! I'm quite tempted to just buy a cheap Discman and burn a few CDs.

By the way, aside from cost, I wish to avoid iPod Touch or suchlike as I don't want to give my son access to the internet yet.

Ta in advance for any advice!

Are you using the streaming service Apple Music, in which case you will need an internet connected device like and ipod Touch, or are you using MP3s stored on itunes, in which case the old ipod classic should work?

Cheap Amazon Fire tablet, install Apple music, download the local copies of the songs so it will play offline. Kid will only have access to the internet if somebody connects it to Wifi.
