Vehicle history - what would you make of this?
Discussion
Hi all,
I am due to pickup a car next week (deposit paid). I was reading the thread about the guy who's wife brought the CAT S Mini and saw someone suggested vcheck.co.uk to him, so i quickly ran the car through there and noticed something alarming on the mileage. Obviously this hasn't been pointed out to me by the seller, so I am beginning to think the mileage may have been tampered with? Or could this be an error somewhere? What would you make of it?
Thanks,
Tom

Looking at that I'd be inclined to think there was a typo (8 instead of 5) in the previous entry?
Can't see why it else it would jump from around 3k miles a year to 32k in one year, and then back down to 3kish...?
Yep - swap the 8 for a 5, weirdly variable mileage though - some years doing 1500 miles, the next 4k.Can't see why it else it would jump from around 3k miles a year to 32k in one year, and then back down to 3kish...?
Looks like they keep taking it to an MOT tester with fat fingers.
The 80587 should be 50887, and the 57k ish MOT should be 54k ish (4 is directly above a 7 on the keypad).
More of a concern to me (unless it's a weekend toy and dry stored much of the time) would be buying a car that has done such a low annual mileage, looks like is has done less than 3k per year.

Why? 50587 would be more reasonable. The 80587 should be 50887, and the 57k ish MOT should be 54k ish (4 is directly above a 7 on the keypad).
