I have never owned either a sandwich toaster or a grill type thing. So I've just ordered one.
Frivolous purchase - or a valuable addition to a recently single mans kitchen?
My kitchen doesn't feature a grill of any sort, an Aga and that's it. I'm thinking toasted sandwiches, maybe a steak or two, some burgers.... not entirely sure as I'm not a cook by any stretch of the imagination.

We have one, personally I think it's a pain in the arse and doesn't work nearly as well as advertised... however the wife likes cooking with it.
Whenever I use it to do sausages I seem to burn the outside whilst the inside stays raw... I'm sticking with more conventional cooking methods.
It is however, relatively easy to clean.

Probably better to use a griddle on the floor of the roasting oven.Frivolous purchase - or a valuable addition to a recently single mans kitchen?

We got one in the sale, works a treat. Have been toasting sandwiches, burgers, put halloumi on it the other day. All went absolutely fine and also means we dont have to worry about blocking up the oven space with this stuff and having to awkwardly clean it afterwards and a soft sponge just wipes clean the GF.

Only for the filling pizza grilled cheesehttps://www.spendwithpennies.com/pizza-grilled-che...
We have one of these https://www.johnlewis.com/breville-vst071-duracerm... which we picked up from Costco to replace an ancient Timothy Whites version.
It works really well. Great for toasted sandwiches, cooking bacon, etc.
