Not for me (honestly!), but my son plays Fortnite on his PS4 and wants to split screen with his mate when he comes round.

I've watched the guides on how to do it, but it doesn't work...

He's got a PSN account, and also an Epic Games account (the Epic one is so you can cross platform with his Xbox owning mates). He's also got another user account created on the PS4 (that doesn't have a PSN account obviously).

When he's logged into the PSN account, Fortnite loads up and comes to the lobby bit where it says something about Duos or Squads. There's a bit on the bottom right of the screen that says about Player 2 - hold "x" to log in. If you hold "x", it then says Player 2 needs to log into a PSN account and has a bit of a wobbly. I can't get it where it shows 2 people (e.g. NWMonkey and User 1).

Like an idiot, I said I'd get it sorted for him before tomorrow night but I haven't got a bloody clue what to do!

Aside from being incredibly annoying, the YouTube videos aren't helping.

Playing Streetfighter or Mario Kart on the SNES was never this difficult...

I didnt think you could crossplay between xbox and ps4?
Unless it changed last year, I thought Sony always blocked it.

I managed to get it to work for me and my nipper.

You need to load the playstation as User 2 . User 2 then opens Fortnite and will need to create/load an epic account, linking an email to it and validating it. Once you've done this, close the application and switch back to playstation user 1. Load up the game, log in, then hold down X to add user 2. You'll be taken to the log in screen, which will then load as it's been validated, and you'll then both be able to play together.

That's magic - my son mentioned something about needing 2 accounts so that makes sense. I'll give it a go tomorrow - very much appreciated!!

It's been in for quite a bit now. My son often plays online with his mates on Xbox, PS4, Switch and PC all at once. Although I'm not a fan of the game, it's incredibly impressive what Epic have done.
