Home security visits/house sitting

Through my work I have come into contact with a company that essentially house sit or provide home security visits for clients who are away from home a lot.

The client in this case was paying 20k a year for their home and pets to be cared for while they were away on business/holiday. The company doesn’t provide a 24hr at the clients home lservice and I assume they have other properties they care for.

The service seems shoddy to me, not helped as the reason I was there was to tidy up a mess that they had gotten into while allegedly looking after the property.

Has anyone heard of this type of work or even use the services of such a company?

We have a bunch of student rentals in the UK and one of our guys moved into the center of London to do exactly this. He gets to live in a high end home...and he’s paid to do so. He doesn’t have to be there 24/7 so can continue his studies in town. I believe there’s some limit on how many people he can have to stay (1 maybe?). Great idea!

I’d make a better one than the guy employed to look after the property who decided to stage a burglary in order to steal cash from the home.
