Watching 24 hours in police custody last night, two young dealers stabbed thier 'friend' to death, to take over his patch, all young guys, known to each other, very high sentences for murder, 25 and 26 yr sentences. I noticed in the crime uk feed, another individual punched someone and killed them in a pub . A single punch manslaughter. Without going all daily mail, it would surely be 'better' to beat someone to death, using just fists, even if that means bringing extra people in to finish the job. The use of a blade seems to make a lot of difference to the sentence but little to the victims outcome in many cases.

I know it's an arms race, and in some quarters it's stab or be stabbed, but the elephant in the room is definitely 'low level' thuggery usually involving alcohol. So before breadvan comes in and postures at us, are these retards using excessive physical mma level strikes on drunk dead duck targets because they know the consequences won't be life changing (i.e. Sentencing) or do they think that far ahead? The single punch manslaughter sentence was 33 months.

You do know that there a difference between manslaughter and murder, and the sentences they get?

I don't think he does. Theunderstanding of premeditation as well amongst a raft of other things, but when you suckle at the teet of the Dailymail, you don't really have independent thoughts.

Absolutely, but the spread of sentencing nowadays is huge. Even your average daily mail reader would be shocked at a 26 year sentence. The ironic thing is the guy who killed an innocent drinker is far more dangerous to the general public than a dealer.

Stab a guy, your 100% trying to kill them.

Punch a guy, with 1 punch is trying to teach a lesson not kill.

Can see why they have varying sentences.

The dealers probably cost society far more than the the drunk , one punch fighter. All the associated policing costs, the cost to the NHS from all the addicts etc etc. The drug trade leads to regular murders, just like the one you've quoted, the pissed up bloke in the pub leads to the odd death now and again, so nowhere near the level of danger that the dealer and his associates generate.

I think it would help if you read the story you've quoted. He was sentenced to 33 months for the assault that led to the injury. After the victim died he was re arrested and pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to a further 2 yrs 8 months.
So he got just over 5 years for not deliberately killing someone.

It’s not really a lottery when sentencing is done within sentencing guidelines.
