A lifetime ago I bought a device that could browse the mobile internet with no additional fees (like the early connected Amazon Kindle) but it had a full colour screen.
The business model seemed to be that they could make a profit by purchasing surplus capacity on the various networks and fund that from the purchase price of the device. It could not make or receive calls.
Anyway the thing never worked properly and I sent it back to amazon if I recall. I can’t remember what it was called and the title is a rough guess at the name.
Am I imagining this or did such a thing exist?
