Erm - if you’re happy with the iPad/Apple user experience - why not just get a new iPad ? Let’s be honest a several year old device has likely paid for itself, is a testament to itsel ?

New iPad. £449 for the 128GB model, if you don’t need as much local storage, buy the 32GB model and save yourself about £100

32GB will hold jack st on storage.

Just go for the 128GB

New iPad also means - very little learning curve.

Except they’re likely coming from a 16gb which has served amply for several years so 32gb would be palatial in comparison and 128gb therefore wildly excessive.

Personally I’ve never had anything over 64gb ... almost everything in the cloud other than recent or favourite podcasts and odd bits of music for when offline

Rather than the iPad 10.2, get an iPad Air 10.5 if you can stretch to £479 or find a deal on it, or an iPad mini if you're ok with a smaller screen (£399 and 7.9").

The screens on both are better (better colour, laminated so it's better if you want to get an apple pencil at some point), 64gb basic storage, better processor (A12 Vs A10).

An iPad 10.2 would be getting older gen spec and less of an upgrade to what you've got.

Try to get iPad Air. Like the poster above I believe that the entry level iPad has fairly low spec. iPad air had the chip from the iPad Pro from a few years ago. New pro naturally has the best.

I bought iPad air before Christmas worrying that the performance wouldn't be enough, but it's great for work, browsing, films etc. Can't fault it.

iPad Air 64gb £459 at Curry's/PC World smile

The Air is iOS 12, upgrading to iPadOS 13 before you do anything should be easy.
