TCs say as long as genuine parts are used however in my personal experience it pays to have a full dealer history. They just have no argument for anything if you do.
As an example I had a 335i that had its discs and pads changed the year prior I had a problem. Sticky calliper and chewed the disc.
Researched online and read no way calliper can be claimed on the extended warranty.
Took it in and they seen discs n pads done at a dealer in the service history. Result = faulty calliper change, new rear discs n pads both sides.
Now I’m not saying get consumables from dealers that was the previous owner who had in my case but the basic servicing I feel is a must at a dealer!
