Light covers!!

Now thinking about fitting the light covers, I have read that the inside, 1/2" outer edge (does that make sense)is to be painted with supplied stuff!, is this the black gel touch - up which comes as a 2 part resin.

You need to use a good primer or they may pop back off.I used sikaflex 209 available @ www.jamestowndistributors.com

Use windscreen primer.

If you use ordinary paint they won't stick properly! Some of us have been there!

The direct answer to your question is NO.
The sikaflex primer and windscreen primer are probably the same thing.
My screen fitter said they no longer used the black primer and had a clear one instead which would not suit our purpose. He did manage to find a can of black buried in his van which despite its age seemed to work fine. He applied 2 coats as it can be a bit streaky.

Thanks for your replies, a short trip to the industrial marine shop and I was able to get the Sika primer 209, Sika 295uv and was informed for best results to use Sika primer 206 on the gel coat. However after a phone call to the factory, I found that the gear leaver and various other parts are available for collection on Saturday, so could put this job off for a week (or few), anyway thanks for your replies.
