Mercedes A250e PHEV 40+ Electric Range
Discussion
Hi
Anyone looking at the new A250e? Specd at AMG level only, so good level tech for the price, and available to order with good discounts available, though demos not in the showrooms until next month according to dealers.
Biggest thing is real world electric range suggestion is 40+ miles. If that’s right thats about the best PHEV range on the market right now. I could drive on electric 80% of the time with that.
I’d be trading down from a 330e but if the specs and technicals stack up this isn’t a bad car. Need to drive though, and first trade reviews were mixed - jolts when engine cuts in, and wheelspins in the slightest damp.
Anyone else tracking this?

I have just ordered one on contract hire, the premium plus model, coming in at £385 per month on a 3 + 23 deal. My driving during the week is a 10 mile run to the station and back so this makes perfect sense given that I don’t want an all electric car. Let me know if you want the details on the lease and I will post.
Yes I think the lease deals are pretty good, certainly cheaper than having a new 330e, and with double the electric range looking at owner feedback. I’m looking at an AMG Exec 3/23/10k also £385pm.
West Midlands dealers think they’ll have demos early next month, & current orders deliver Early May.
I’ll thing I’ll hold out to test one, and report back here if anyone is interested.

well it's got a 15.6kWh battery. Not sure how much is useable but even at a modest 3miles/kWh should see you comfortably into 40 miles.
It's definitely the right way to heading towards full electrification. Once you start driving in EV mode, using the petrol engine feels so awkward, especialy setting off from standstill.
Also glad it has full 7kW onboard charger
The BMW x5 45e unfortunately is 3.6kw as standard with 7kw being a paid option...and that's with a bigger battery too.
If the lease rates were good I'd go for it but it would be a slight step down from the 2225XE I have.
