Hi All,
A little help from my fellow members please,
I’ve a 2013 328i xdrive auto and noticed that the rear parking sensors are not working? the front ones are working fine. I’m wondering if this could be possibly a fuse blown or if it’s something more sinister? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Just letting you know that I do not have the digital PDC unit that shows car on my Idrive screen, it’s just the type that bleeps as I approach an object.

Thanks in advance,

Shaun

I would say to get fault codes read and that will tell you. I’m assuming when you check vehicle status there’s no clue.
Reach out to someone who has Carly or Bimmercode near you if you don’t want to go to a garage.
I can tell you from experience that when I’ve had an individual sensor fail , whilst PDC unit doesn’t function there’s still beeping.
If yours is silent , then it’s likely more than one.

I’ve not seen a system yet, that uses individual fuses for separate sensors.

Out of interest, without the display, what were the symptoms that led you to identify an individual sensor ?

Sorry, maybe I need to be a little clearer? I’m wondering if it is a fuse as all the front sensors work and all the back sensors don’t. So I’m asking are there 2 separate fuses? One fuse for front sensors? And a separate fuse for the rear sensors as all sensors at the rear are not working. There’s no error codes showing on the car so again if anyone can help it’s very much appreciated.

Were you asking me, Russell ?
If so it’s a E46 M3 ; pulling out garage it beeped wildly , but when reversing to objects I got nothing or illogical beeps; e.g. not following the increase in audio as it gets closer.
I remembered from another old E46, the trick was to engage reverse and listen to the sensors ; clicking meant the sensor was okay. One didn’t click , so I deemed it was faulty. Under closer inspection damaged. Once replaced , all okay.
