...i've been offered this lovely Rapide S privately, so, if this happens, will remain the #1 Rapide fan boy that I am but with more gears and more bhp!

Obvs need to shift mine first. Had a word with a couple of dealers/indies and, although they like the FAMSH and spec and condition and history, they hate the mileage at 50k. Clearly it has been driven into the groundrolleyes But the market is what it is...

So any tips on selling it on guys? Will do a no nonsense good price to avoid perpetual 'will u swop it 4 my jet-ski and £1500 m8' stuff! Autotrader i find very expensive compared to EBay/PH and with horribly unformatted text - but if its worth it? So, best online place and maybe any other Indies that might want it?

Worst case I keep it and continue to enjoy its proven supreme reliability :-)

Auto trader is normally the 1st site people will look at, followed by Ebay.

People will look at other places as well, but they will look at Autotrader for sure so that'd be my choice.

Dealers who are looking for rare stock like that usually check Autotrader most days, some will have alerts set up also for their desired cars, so if you're priced correctly expect a quick response.

Is there any not an active Aston Martin owners forum with a classifieds? As prorespective owners often are doing their research and so on there.

Another vote for AT. As a serial car buyer, that’s my first point of call for both selling and buying. You can stand out from the crowd by placing a comprehensive, well crafted ad with high quality photos. Get it sold!

I don’t suppose you’ve tried McGurks? They seem to have been advertising recently that they’re very short of stock

Put my Vantage Roadster on the PH classifieds in September and sold it within 48 hours to a non member following a quick inspection by his “mate in the trade”. They did try and knock the price for minor items several times but I held out.

Thinking about it I have sold the last five cars I have advertised more of less straight away with no issues unlike a couple of friends experiences. One was threatened with legal action 9 months later and other ended up in a fight on his driveway and these were both sub £10k cars.

Pistonheads is best imo sold loads of high end cars. It's easy to siv out the idiots from first communication. Just make sure the buyer is clear on price before they turn up as some people myself Inc travel quite a distance for the right car and be honest in your description you can't go wrong shaun.

A vote for eBay here. I've always advertised cars on both AT and eBay, however only had scams from the former and sales from the latter.

I sold my F type a couple of weeks ago on eBay via classified ad, didn't bother with AT at all this time. It sold to the first viewer after being listed for about 10 days with a quality advert, decent pics and a keen price.

Another benefit of eBay is being able to view someone's feedback when they message you and only providing your mobile number once you've sounded them out through a few messages. I also sold my previous V8 Vantage this way, again after receiving only scam calls/texts through AT.

Another vote for Ebay from me, not that I've sold that many cars.

You can see how many watchers your advert has too which gives you a good idea as to how many people have looked at it and how many are interested, although you never know whether a watcher may eventually purchase or whether they're just interested because they own a similar car already.

I'm averse to ebay as when I sold a 530D years ago I was getting lowball bids via their message system from people who hadn't seen the car. I eventually told one not to waste my time and to come see the car if he was serious - next thing my mobile rings and he was ranting down the phone at me a bit. Very dodgy lowbrow character! I complained to Ebay that they had sent my number to a dodgy stranger before any sale but they defended it. I have switched it to a long gone PAYG number now but was quite put out by this at the time.

She's in for a front end respray on Monday at an AM bodyshop to cure what many on here have done to her front! Will advertise then. Thx

Here on PH is pretty good tbh. Sold my TVR's here and almost sold my present Vantage last September. After one week had two guys interested, first guy came and wanted it but I had second thoughts and kept it, just couldn't let it go. wink The very nice chap understood fortunately and later contacted me to say he had actually got one.

Every time. Properly priced and well presented it will sell quickly. So many cars are optimistically priced and people wonder why they won't sell. Disappointingly, cars are rarely actually worth what we'd like to think...

you can never tell - I bought my V12V from the PH forums as it turns out (not classifieds).
