Escape From Tarkov (EFT)

Anyone playing it? Had it for a while, but not started playing it until now.

Seems all of the big streamers have jumped onto it in the recent few weeks. I assume the EFT marketing team have been working overdrive.

In what way is it different from PUBG? I remember there being hype around it a few years back when it was in dev, seemed to be there forever and then PUBG came out and it seemed to disappear as there was a flood of battle royales.

Liked the look of it a few years back, but unless they've majorly changed something I'm not sure how such a late entrant to BR will survive.

A lot slower than PUBG - more tactical and strategic.. It's basically raid's on different environment/scenes. Mixture of PVE - players and AI.

A mixture of ARMA/PUBG/Squad/H1Z1 etc.

I think its kinda pants tbh. 40 minute game of hide and seek. Its primarily a looting game over a shooting game. PUBG has a point to it. Land, loot, kill, win by being the last man standing. EFT is spawn, loot, avoid everyone and extract.

It’s as described as above if that’s what you want. Alternatively go hunt players, kill them and take their loot.

I’d describe it as FPS meets The Division.

Yeah, I played ages ago. It seems to have exploded in popularity recently for some reason.

It's still in beta, it "came out" a year before PUBG.

Its a very tactical game, where there's so much to learn/master. Ammo types are more important than gun types for example.

Not tried Tarkov but from the Runningmanz stream, it looks pretty similar to DayZ
