There has been a lot of chat regarding the recent deals on the 8 series gran coupe which got me thinking what the best lease deals have been in the past?

My current car was my first ever lease and it was a 3+23 with 8k for £318 a month on an E220d AMG line estate. That's about 21% of the RRP. I know it's not a unicorn deal but it ticked the boxes at the time.

So, what's the best deal you've actually had?

In 2016 got a Golf GTI DSG 9+23 £147 but only 5000 miles.

Extended for a third year at just over £100 per month.

A250 AMG Premium Plus £250 per month 9 Down - 10k per annum.

Smashed the mileage though and ended up doing 50k in two years!

What did you pay in excess charges?

Think it was 7p per mile - about £2.2k from memory. Plus a couple of hundred for some invisible scratches and wheel damage. Though I think Mercedes dropped the charges for the damage in the end. The BCA chap was a total bell end, though I did get the car for free for a month as they failed to turn up a couple of times.

Audi S8 2015
£2280 + 23 x £395 for basic spec and 5K miles per annum (£11455), excess miles 10.8p. I added some options and paid £2499 + 23 x £433. Then bought extra 10K miles for half price (around £500). Service package for 3 years £350. Total cost was around £13.5K for 2 years, 20K miles, with service included. S8 invoice price £60K, RRP £80K.

Audi A8 3.0 TDI Black Edition 2017, 6+23 x 399 = £11571, 10K miles per annum, service package for 3 years £350, free paint protection, excess miles 10.8p. No options, car was in stock. Currently in 3rd year at 374 pcm. A8 invoice price £50K, RRP £70K. Not as good as S8, but still good.

Waiting for another super deal, or otherwise going to keep A8 or buy something used. BMW 840i didn't really fit my criteria, don't want to live at petrol station and excess miles were awfully expensive. Extra 10K miles would cost as much, as leasing cheap car for 2 years.

I regret not jumping on 4C deal. My friend discouraged me and I think he was wrong. After living with Abarth 124 Spider, I think Alfa 4C would be ok.

That's an alright deal now - pretty tragic for nearly 20 years ago though!

I just remembered that also had a B9 Audi A4 Sport 1.4 TFSI on a 3+23, 8k miles PA, £208 PM. These were the really cheap deals that were released when the car first came out.
