Apple Touch Bar

Does anyone else feel the Touch Bar Apple are now using on their MacBook Pros is a bit of a waste of space? I try to like it, but it just doesn't make sense. Real function buttons were much more helpful - I could find them without having to look at them. I think the ideal solution would be to have the row of function buttons and the touch bar above it.

I also acknowledge that I may not yet have found the best use for it. What do you use it for?

I purposely bought a non-touch bar model for this reason, as I wasn't sure it was worth the money for it as I didn't see the benefit so interested to know.

I tried really hard to use it, tried some custom app buttons etc. But its just in the wrong place. I don't think I've touched it in at least a month except for volume. If I had my time again I would get the air.

Keyboards should be felt and not seen.

The reviews that came with the newest MBP update all said the touch bar is still pointless. After all these years no one has found a way of using it that makes it better than a normal row of function keys. With any luck it'll be quietly dropped in the next round of updates.

I've heard it's handy for audio production and other timeline type stuff.

Might be worth trying something like GoldenChaos mod. The stock options are useless so maybe in future there will be a decent update.
