Volvo XC90 PCP

There seem to be some tempting PCP deals available on the XC90 ordered by the end of the month with £2750 Volvo deposit contribution. There's also an additional £3600 support for anyone that already owns a Volvo on top of any dealer discount you can negotiate.
Has anyone taken one of these deals or is considering one? I've had a few offers through Carwow and I wondered what discounts people are achieving. The best I have so far including the £3600 is 22.6% on a ether the R Design or Inscription B5 D, or 22.9% on the R Design B5 P. All at 4.9% APR.

Our In laws have just picked one up and must admit I'm impressed. Tempted to change our Disco Sport for one

Didn’t realise there was a further discount for the other half already owning one; did you have to talk to someone about that or can you assume it comes off the offer price through carwow?

I’ve got some great quotes back from VW on a Touareg - SEL basic (pre options) from £505pcm with £1500 deposit and 10k pa on a 48m deal. 526pcm for the SEL tech. Worth looking at - they’re basically putting in 6k to 8k plus 0% finance

The loyalty discount is on top of the quoted Carwow discount.

I found the best price for a Touareg through orangewheels website, then called that dealer (transpires that there are only 2 VW franchises on orange wheels) and got a VW quote directly, then got my local VW to price match to save a 300 mile trip. Took a little more effort (wait for online offers - 8hrs maybe), then two phone calls.

First pic is for an SEL, second for an SEL Tech (51k down to 44 after discount, 19k balloon payment, 0%apr).

Why’s that? What have I missed? 51k car for 44k seems sensible, and almost as cheap as leasing but with more flexibility and reduced pence per mile over mileage?

Hijacked OPs post a bit here, though did suggest they look into VWs. Are you suggesting that the money makes sense but Touareg is not worth it? Genuinely interested as seeing the dealer tomorrow morning

Interest rate is 2.9% apr, discount on list from dealer is about £8k.

Gotcha. Yeah maybe. I’ll ask for 2yr and 3 yr prices tomorrow. Noticed I only offered a 1k deposit too, not 1500.

Kids aren’t getting any smaller - xc90 is a decent alternative with the OPs discount, X5 is waaay more expensive, any other big cars for 500pcm with sub 2k deposit? Q7/8 adds 10k list price post discount

Have a look in the bargain pcp thread. I’m sure someone got a Q7 50 tdi S-Line for £45k which was circa £2k down and 500ish a month on 4 year pcp via Drive the deal

Test drove the Touareg today. It was boring. It’s big, comfortable, functional etc but dull. Felt like getting into a Passat but a bit higher rather than something special. It’ll do the job and we’ll I’m sure; not much road noise, comfortable, don’t feel cats eyes whatsoever, good visibility in wing mirrors, lane assist and adaptive cruise mean you don’t even need to steer or press go on the motorway, but really isn’t engaging. Not a drivers car.

My 2015 C class felt special when you got in. Like a baby S class. My 2016 330 m sport feels sporty and engaging to drive - buttons all face the driver and seats hug perfectly. The Touareg is bland. Disappointed but guess unless I can find 65k for an X5 I need to realign expectations. Great functional car for 40k though so might end up with one but will review the market further first.

Also confirmed with Volvo that the additional car discount is defo a thing so they’re looking at xc90 deals for me, reply expected tomorrow.

What’s your reasoning for looking at SUVs? Do you off road need AWD or wading fords or towing large weight?

Can’t reply on behalf of the OP (again, sorry for the hijack) but personally it’s having 3 kids who already moan about being stuck in the back of a 3 series. Also needs to fit clients comfortably when required in reasonable comfort and class. My requirement is purely space - and I assume that an A6 or 5 series still isn’t as spacious inside or carry as much cargo for holidays. Based on today though, and price of an SUV I might scope A6/530d/other. It’ll never see a proper hill or mud in my ownership.

A6 is huge! I’m my old 2007 saloon toured Europe with 2 adults and 2 kids aged 16 and 12. All luggage in boot nothing needed to be in the cabin. Estate has even more capacity.

Good luck with the search. I live in central Manchester and find myself doing lots of short journeys so I'm looking at the T8 inscription. With all of the available support it's coming in at less than £600 a month. Factoring in the potential savings on fuel I think it'll work out cheaper than the Toureg prices you put up.
