From the Beeb.

Raise speed to cut crashes claim

A Lincolnshire haulage company said a change in the speed limit on the A15 could cut the number of people killed and injured on the danger road.
Denby Transport wants the limit for lorries raised from 40mph to 60mh after a spate of recent crashes.

Part of the road was still closed on Thursday after Tuesday's accident between a lorry and a car - in which one person died.

Dick Denby from Denby Transport said the change could make the road safer.

He said: "Generally speaking a 40mph limit imposed probably 30 years ago perhaps is no longer appropriate. It needs to be reviewed.

"Frustration is certainly a contributing factor in many near misses and perhaps some accidents."

He said modern trucks were "perfectly safe" at higher speeds.

Good stuff!!

It makes sense, but the trouble is, is that it goes against the instincts of those who don't have a clue.
