I assume you mean to reduce fling on to your wheel? I found castrol chain wax to be the best at this from the types I tried.

However, about 3 weeks ago I put on a scottoiler and have since done well over a 1000 miles on it and having taken the time to set up the drip rate to one every 45 seconds I have not had a single drop flung on to the wheel and, even more surprisingly, all the gloop that the wax attracted has gone and left me with a very clean looking chain. I had one before and I hated it, oil all over the wheels etc. The trick appears to be to mount the reservoir somewhere where it doesn't get hot and to set it up correctly.

Regards,

Mark

Tried the wax and found that it makes more mess than a scottoiler. Have tried to master the scottoiler, but to no avail. It seems to have a mind of its own, so I rely on a bog standard spray manually applied and left for a few hours before riding.

Try Wurth High Performance Dry Chain Lube. It came out tops in an MCN test for fling and corrosion prevention in the damp. I found it great it's also well priced, I get it from Busters-accessories.co.uk
