Is it me, or is my MPPSK getting louder?

I've had it fitted for over 3 months now, it is definitely louder than when i first had it installed.

I tend to run it mainly in comfort, so i find that odd that its louder, raspier, more louder in the car than when brand new

Now i'm not complaining, l love the product, but wanted to keep a relatively low profile when toodling in comfort mode.

When i'm driving through town centre streets with the window open ( who does'nt do that!!) its louder than before.

Now to be honest i thought exhausts quietened with age, you know soot builds up etc... can someone clarify this?

Some of the packing material in the silencer might have burned off a bit now. Also check the fitment between sections - a few heat cycles, it might now be leaking a tiny bit.

thanks Dude

Yep, could be the packing gradually wearing off.. I don't really have the facilities/equipment to check the exhaust as a whole for section leaks, that will have to wait to my annual service in the spring.

To be honest the sound is more "rasping" than "blowing" exhaust gas leaking through a section... still i'll get it checked out

The electronic valve is working fine, so thats not getting stuck open or closed.

Suppose this could be just normal MPPSK behaviour getting bedded in.

I would say mine has got slightly louder over about 2500 miles (12 months) I have never found it intrusive though, Still think it is the best mod ever for these cars though and the extra BHP / Torque is awesome as well. Fantastic cars I totally love my 340 Tourer.
