Yesterday, 3:30pm near Durham:

Yellow Koeig F48 - the F40 a-like based on the 348. There can't be many of those around!

This used to be one of Dougie Hall's cars - JCT600 Newcastle had it in for a while - some Ferrari fan from the Durham area bought it I think. I seem to recall the guy has a business which specialises in ceramic friction materials for brakes etc.

Not sure if thats the one or not.

The one I've seen (based near Durham) a few times looks like a later model, and to my eyes, looks more "F40ish".

I seriously considered the car a few years ago, when it came up for sale (was about £48k ish I think), but the very plain 348 interior, and the prospect of the, very highly, turbocharged engine imploding, brought me back to my senses.

I know one or two people like these, but every time I see a Koenig body kit I think MR2.

I'm sure I remember a story where Enzo Ferrari threatened any dealer selling Koenig a car with excommunication

I'm pretty sure that the one I saw retained the side strakes on the doors - although I could be mistaken.
