Hello!
Thanks to all the super helpful advice on here, I have managed to convince my Husband not to buy a new car from a dealer for a high mileage car for work!
But, he needs a car in the next couple of weeks, and as we are in the middle of a house move, we can't take out any additional finance at the moment.
So, can anyone please recommend a company for a short term lease - around 3 months.
This will tide him over to start his new job, and once we've moved, he can get a 2-3 year old car.
Thank you!

Probably easier and cheaper to do a deal with a rental company. Speak to branches directly, some firms have considerable leeway when it comes to rates. Enterprise are generally happy just to have another car on the road. If you can be a little flexible and you’re happy to negotiate, you might be surprised.
Or cheaper still, get on Gumtree and Autotrader, find a suitable old car (from an independent dealer if you are concerned about a warranty) for around £1k, sell it or part ex it for not much less when you’re ready to get something newer in a few months.

Or be so taken with your £1k car that you decide to keep it until it dies and become a regular contributor on this thread.Or cheaper still, get on Gumtree and Autotrader, find a suitable old car (from an independent dealer if you are concerned about a warranty) for around £1k, sell it or part ex it for not much less when you’re ready to get something newer in a few months.

Interested to know how you fair with Enterprise etc. I could well need to do this for 3 months or so. Might pop into local branch tomorrow and see what deal can be had.

Not exactly the same but a colleague of mine who got made redundant recently lost his company car, I asked how he was getting to interviews etc and he said he pays his local enterprise £15 and gets the car on the night before and drops it back on the next afternoon, he said they are never cleaned and usually have come from a previous rental directly to him, he has never had an issue with damage etc and gets anything form a from a micra to a 5 series. Works well for him and this arrangement is with his local siteSi
