Hi Everyone. Been a long time lurker on here looking at all the awesome watches on show and dreaming.

Looking for opinions and advice on a purchase! I was bought a gold and stainless Submariner with a blue face by my father for my 17th birthday.

My Dad wants to buy me another watch as a congratulations present and I’m thinking something a little bit more subtle.

2 watch’s have caught my eye:

IWC Portofino Chronograph in gold with brown strap and the Breitling premier in red gold brown strap again.

Any other suggestions or opinions on these would be really great.

Will have to find some pics.

Nice looking watches, but not exactly subtle, being 40mm, gold and quite deep cases. If I was looking for a gold dress watch, I'd be thinking 38mm with a slim case. Jaeger LeCoultre perhaps?

Don’t know what it is about Jaeger LeCoultre but they do nothing for me. I think they are a little to simple perhaps I’m not mature enough yet.

I guess when I say more subtle I mean compared to an all gold yacht master which was what I wanted a few years ago.

I have been looking at stainless IWC but maybe in green or blue as something a little different.

Zenith El Primero Chronomaster for me.

Huge range, great heritage, fantastic value secondhand.
