Mods - Changing user name to post anonymously?

Hi mods

I really need some life advice from the PH community. How would I go about changing / creating a new user name to be able to post anonymously without flouting the site rules?

You can't change your name as it'll just associate you with all your previous and subsequent posts, your only option is to go against the multiple accounts rule and set a new one up with the sole intention of posting what you need to.

It's been done before, many times, they seem to let it happen if it's for this purpose.

Of course now you've alerted is all we'll be matching up all anonymous postings with your username anyway

Great. So the one time in 13 years someone needs some serious advice in a non attributable manner and don’t want to flout the rules, there is no way it can be done?

I'd wait for some proper advice from a mod rather than an idiot like me but I'm pretty sure the forum won't have any mechanism to support what you want from a technical point of view so I can't see any alternative than to setup a new account.

You can set up a second account BUT email the mods first. Once the account has served it's purpose, email them and they will close it.

I've done this before and the mods were very helpful.
