I sleep alot (wil go to bed at 10, normally asleep by 10.30 and don't get our of bed till 7/7.30, but always seem tired!?!

Most nights I wake up quite a few times and generally manage to get back to sleep.

Probably once a week, Ill be lying in bed and twitch violently such that it feels like I lift off the bed, this sometimes being accompanied by a flash in my eyes like a black and white zigzags (I've always thought its my brain resetting itself.... lol!)

As far as I'm aware I've never been abducted by aliens or had any brain operation which involved robotic parts being inserted, nor have I met Jimmy Savill.

Anyone else experience this or have any knowledge.

Thanks

(PS Im a 40 year old male, exercise 5 times a week and drink moderately).

Often described as 'brain zaps' these can occur when people come off some medications too quickly (ie Prozac, Citalopram etc) - could that be a possibility? (I work in adverse event reporting and see these type of reports quite often)

Just read up on Brain Zaps and this seems to make sense. Only meds are migraine tablets (sumatriptan) which look likely to be the cause.

Thanks

I sleep more than that - asleep by 10 and wake at 7. Might be awake for an hour during the night 2 or three times a week.

But yes, I don't feel any better than people getting half that!

I was going to suggest this also. Have a read on it, your symptoms seem aligned. Get some tablets from Boots, take one a day and see how you feel after a week
