Hello All,
Does anyone have experience of a good iron contamination remover?
Ideally it needs to have a neutral ph value, but I am not sure that
is possible or if these products have to be acidic.
I will be using it for bodywork primarily, don't want to damage the
Aston's paintwork, but also for wheels.
Thanks in advance.

I use Iron Out from Auto Finesse. Great stuff. Get the 5L bottle and then decant. I tend to use quite a bit of this - with every wash. I have my car detailed and it has crystal serum on - no issues.

Cheers

Chris.

I use Korrosol - goes purple in contact with iron.

Again, no issues.

Have had good success with IronX. Just know what you are getting into if you've never used iron remover before: it contains sulphur compounds and really does stink.

Iron X is the best I've used. Revolting to smell.

I use the AG stuff just because I can pick it up from Halfords or the local motor factors. Seems as good as ironX.

Works great as a wheel cleaner.

In my experience its usually (mainly) from the brake discs and (less so) from general road use.

if you apply IronX along the body behind each wheel you will see lots of little specks of magenta appear from the engrained iron dust. It can taper out along the door with the main concentration being on the part of the wing behind the wheel arch and below the side indicator light.

I only use Iron X but what a smell, you have to do it outside.
