Every time I clean my white X5 is covered in tar spots on lower panels and arches.
Took me a age to get rid of it today using Tar Off which is excellent stuff.
Any ideas what wax to put on my car to reduce the black stuff from sticking it is waxed at the moment and I guess tar remover is taking the wax off!
Cheers

I'd just use wd40 on the tar. Must be much cheaper.

Any tar remover is pretty much going to do a number on any typical paste wax. I imagine adding a detailing sealant over the top of the wax as a sacrificial later might help. I use gyeon wet coat and it seems to do a good job of minimising tar spots; the ones that do stick mostly come off with the pressure washer after a pre soak.
Might be worth ceramic coating it? There are some fairly easy to apply systems now with a trade off in durability.
I assume the main issue is due to the width of the tyre and how flush they are with the sides of the car; is it possible to get some subtle mud flaps that project a little further than whatever is on now to stop the tar before it’s got to the body?

Get a Ceramic Coating on it, with a hydrophobic coating on top of that. That will stop it.

Would always recommend GTechniq CSL with Exo on top.

Just use white spirit (£1.00)...no need for any of this fancy stuff.

Leave on for a couple of seconds, tar marks come off easily with no damage to the paintwork.
