Credentials Preferences Not Remembered

Currently PH is making me log on every 24 hours (even though I'm logged in it requires a password re-entered in order to post etc.). I don't know whether this is a problem in itself (it doesn't bother me), but what is a little annoying is that when I've done this it 'forgets' my preference to remember other members credentials.

I can edit my preferences and everything is fine again .... until the next day when I'm (automatically) logged out again.

Any ideas? :)

This happens occasionally to some people and I've not got to the bottom of it. I have a theory that it's to do with dates on cookies (american format versus UK format but can't nail it).

Anyone on the programming side experienced anything similar?

I struggle to program a VCR, but is this anything to do with Firefox? Reason I ask is I get the same problem with eBay when using Firefox - it just won't stay logged in for longer than 24 hours. Even if I check the "keep me signed in until I sign out" box, I have to log back in again once per day to view My eBay etc.

Just a thought...

That's funny, I was meaning to post the same thing myself.

When browsing with Ghostzilla (Mozilla-based browser) I get asked for credentials several times a day.

My logon procedure is now as follows:
1. Try to post, get taken to log-on screen
2. Log on and get redirected to front page
3. Hit 'back' to get back to the page I was looking at.
4. Go to My Info -> Preferences
5. Hit 'Update' to apply preferences which system has remembered is associated with my login, but not applied
6. Hit 'back' a few times to get back to the post I wanted to reply to
7. Hit 'reply' again and actually make my post.

Things would be improved if the system automatically applied a user's preferences when they log on.
