Compare the two sentences properly and you’ll see that there’s a huge disparity

They seem similar, 16 months disqualification for him compared to 24 for the female who also had a previous drink driving disqualification.

I was quite shocked to see him slam on the brakes, then as the car wobbles take his hands off the steering wheel and move them. Did the car avoid an accident?

He seemed to have no control when it did a wobble.

I believe it's a 220i sport. 146mph top speed 2l petrol turbo.

Undulations in the road looked pretty bad too. Car could’ve gone light easily on some of them. No excuse for that sort of speed on a 2-way road like that.

100-200kph (near enough to the speed he was doing) takes over 30 seconds at full throttle in one of those, I think the comment about pinning the pedal stands. On that road 119mph might be a quick squirt for a few seconds in an M3/5 but in a "normal" 2 series it's a bit of an undertaking. Not justifying doing it in a performance car, a crash at 119mph would be just as devastating, but doing it in that car involves extended tttery.

I think the hand movements were an effect of knowing he's royally fked up. Almost like he was going to wave to the camera to acknowledge he's been caught and decided that was a silly idea.

That makes sense. I just saw it was a 2l and thought it was a 220i. BMW confusing badging again. Oops.

She got a prison sentence, albeit suspended. I know this is PH and taking away your licence might as well mean imprisonment, but back in the real world her sentence was just a little harsher than his.

Speed aside I would have come down hard due to hand positioning. If you are going to speed hands should be in the correct position, no (minimal) talking and radio down or off and telephone off. You need to be on it mentally and watching for dangers ahead which includes the other idiot road users on the phone, engrossed in conversation, listening to loud music, map reading or following satnav AND of course Police scamera vans.
